Ravenhall Prison Project

The project will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership (PPP), with the consortium responsible for design, construction, maintenance and operations, including custodial services. The local community is playing an important role in the prison’s development, with a community advisory group established to enable local input into planning the facility.

After mobilising to site in early 2015, the first stage of construction will involve site environmental and heritage inspections followed by civil works including clearing, bulk earthworks and roadways.
Some of the key features of the new prison include the capacity for 1,000 medium security male prisoners, a 75-bed specialist forensic mental health unit, and enhanced pre and post-release programs and services to reduce reoffending.
